Ok, got a Surefire M900 on the way. But don't have the excess cash for a SIR right now.

So I'm needing a rail that I can add on to the bottome of my M4 handguards.

First off, to those who have them, are they durable?

And if so, which ones work best?

If anyone wants to post pics, feel free.

The GG&G "UFIR" i have mounted on my Bushmaster M4gery is a stout unit. However at 4 inches, it is too short. I am considering a 6 inch rail that includes cover panels. It is made by Falcon Industries and is available through Brownells.com

Lightfighter sells that rail also, might be worth checking to see if he is cheaper than Brownells

They used to have 3-4 different sizes, but I don't know what they offer now.

I have tried both the GG&G and the one from Falcon. Both seem fine, although some say the GG&G may not line up right on the 7 hole M4 handguards. I used standard carbine handguards, because who needs double shielding with a vertical grip?

While I never broke one, there seems to be a lot of slop in the handguards. If you pull in hard on your vertical grip it moves around so much I found it distracting. I went back to a RAS and used the rail on a 20" for a light mount only.

I've had the AAC rail for a while as well as the AAC Vert Grip and they have both held up very "professionaly." I love 'em.
