Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Hard Chromed M16A1 carriers?

Forgot to ask this question on earlier post tonite.

Did any of the early M16A1s have chromed bolts and carriers?  I've been putting together a couple of M16 and M16A1 clones, and acquired a DPMS chromed A1 style carrier awhile back. I'll use it on the A1 clone if someone can confirm that, in fact, some of the early A1s had the chrome bolt/carrier assys.

I can confirm that in 1982 I saw M-16's at the US Army infantry school with chrome bolt carriers. I also had them in my USAR MP unit in 1986.

Thanks sarge. OK then, I'll go ahead and use the chrome carrier in my A1 clone.[:D]
