Can anyone here please tell me a little more about this SP-1 does it appear to be a correct SP-1 from the 70's?

Yes, it's an SP1 carbine from the '70's. He wants too damn much for it, even if it is practically new, and that's why nobody got near his reserve price.

I don't pretend to be an expert on the preban pricing thing, but my hunch is that $1300-$1400 would be about right.

BTW, I've got the exact same model rifle.  Paid about $350-$400 for it back in 1976 or 77.[:D]

Hmm I just saw one sell at a gun show here in Detroit just like it for 2 G
something about the lack of papers adds to its value vs. a dealer sale....
