Looking for some info on the AR-10 and how it’s dimensions around the stock area resemble those of the AR-15.

Is the AR-10 stock/buffer tube similar to the AR-15?

Can a VLTOR stock be installed on the AR-10?

If/when the AWB goes away can we install collapsible stocks on the AR-10? Problems with the weight of the buffer?

Has anybody done an AR-10 with a VLTOR stock? Your thoughts. I was thinking it would be a nice match up if it’d fit together.

Thanks for any input.

Best regards, J

JTR-

I have a Vltor stock on my SR25. The only difference between an AR10/SR25 and a AR15 is the action spring rate and the length of the receiver. The receiver is longer by 3/4-inch, giving the stock a longer feel. The rifle receiver extension is the same between the AR10/SR25 and the AR15. Your biggest decision is, what length stock do you want? Vltor offers both A1 and A2 length rifle stocks.

Regarding Carbine collapsible stocks. Yes, maybe in the future the law will allow a CAR stock to be installed on a SR25/AR10. IF you decide to go that direction, You will need to install the proper rate spring and buffer, to match the .308 round.
