Why no desert camo ?? because they just got financing for the new combat cloth that you see. Canada does not have desert environment, so sand colors are not needed, it's a budget thing. Until a few years ago, combat cloth was the straight OD green. Maybe KevinB can elaborate on this, if he so desires..

WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IS LIKELY A DIEMACO C7CT

LOOK INTO THE SMALL ARMS LOCK UP. THEY MAKE THERE ON STUFF THERE INCLUDING THE SUPPRESSORS. NOT A BAD PIECE OF KIT, BUT THERE ARE BETTER OUT THERE (KAC MK11 MODO)

Actually the CT is not well liked,it is too flimsy and  doen't offer much more than a C7A1.At least with the C7 an M203 can be mounted (SOP at my unit)and used by the spotter.iniatlly the request was for a 7.62mm weapon so ammunition could be used in both, the AR-10A4 ws the most desired but things being what they are the CT was issued to some, other units are trialing the AR10.
The CT is better suited to police use than military use.
The troops are wearing Temperate CADPAT because of the Battlegroup Commander's following the advice of the previous ISAF Commander, the idea is not to be mistaken for other countries troops that are not part of ISAF.The battlegroup has been issued Arud region CADPAT for use if the situation changes from peacekeeping to peace making

Tuukka - your right on the can...
same with the TAC-50 can (barely visible).

Kevin, what scope is that on the C7CT?

The static C7CT had a Vari XII 1" POS
Most of the Bn weapons have M3LR's, some Nightforce etc.

The "Official" scope of the CF is the Unertl C3A1 scope - it sucks.  Ask Reaper he had two go down at the Sniper Comp this year...

Some units have gone out and local purchased a varied to scopes for better or worse - and the weapon techs that built the C7CT have no concept of tactical sniping so they gave a shitty product.

Those at the Benning match this year will get to see one on our spotter gun.

The guy that sent it to me said it was at an infantry convention at Benning.  The rifle was there obviously, but that don't mean it is in use here.

When were you a Drill?  I went thru Infantry school at Benning in 1991.
