Can someone tell/show me how to break down my AR?  Its a Bushmaster with a 20" barrel and A2 style receiver.

                      Thank You,

Define "breakdown".

Are you talking about just to clean it?

Perfect....  Thanks James_Gang

I meant disassemble.. sorry breakdown is a bit vague.  I wanted to know for cleaning reasons and for modification reasons later down the road.

        Thanks,

03;

Did you get a book (owner's manual) with it?  If not, phone up Bushmaster and ask them to send you one. It is my understanding that firearms manufacturers are obliged to do so.

Enjoy!

I did not get one.  The rifle was given to me as a graduation gift from a friend of mine.  I will have to call Buchmaster and find out if I can get a copy.  If that is too big of a hassle I will print off the link above.

First off I highly reccomend you read the electronic version of the manual (as linked above).  Or to the main page of this site (www.AR15.com) and look under BOOKS and download the -10 (M16A2 Operator's Manual).  Which is basically the same thing (only better IMHO).

You can also check here for details on field stripping, cleaning etc.  All with photographs and step-by-step instructions:

It shouldn't be a hassle to get one from bushy. Most companies will send you one for free. http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/lowers/bfimana2op.asp
Also, pick up the M16 manual, available at most surplus stores, gunshows and AR related retailers for about 5 bucks.http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/gunsmith/technical_manuals.asp
