Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Colt AR-15A2 HBAR + Bushmaster A2 Profile Barrel ???

I have a Colt AR15A2 HBAR and I'm wanting to put an A2 profile barrel with a 1/9" twist on it.  The HBAR barrel is too heavy for my tastes.  I have been looking for a Colt A2 profile barrel with the 1/9 twist and come up empty handed.  I was thinking about going with the Bushmaster A2 profile barrel.  Any reason why I shouldn't do this?

Sounds good to me, unless you are trying to keep it all Colt. The HBAR is a little on the heavy side for an AR, the balance and feel is completely different than the A1/A2 rifle we carried in the service. As far as quality, they are excellent barrels. If you can find a Bushy barrel in your preferred configuration/twist then by all means go for it.

Ditto on it being an excellent barrel. Works on a Colt no problem.
