I had a recoil buffer failure in my C.A.R. style buttstock.  I need to replace it and i'm wondering if there is any specific difference between an M4 style buttstock and a C.A.R. style buttstock.  Brownells has a M4 listed in their catalog for approx. $8 but it is listed as a spare part for an M4. Are the two interchangeable? Or do i need a specific C.A.R recoil buffer?

Thank you.

M4 should be heavier.  Either will work (though the M4 is better for full-auto weapons).

this is something i've been wondering about.  would a heavier buffer make for more felt recoil?  i'd actually kinda like a little more for whatever reason.  also, does this inhibit the cycling action/rate of the gun?  i don't do alot of rapid fire, but will this start the FTE's and the like?
thanks
