I remember seeing them in the delta force catalog. I just did a quick search of their site and came up blank. I believe they were in the neighborhood of 225. Awful expensive.

http://www.sawlesales.com/    $179.00

I totally understand your want to have real deal Colt parts but with a little asking around you may be able to find out who Colt buys theres from and then find out who else buys them, following me? Good luck

beernut,
I'll give them a call. Thanks.

Spooge5150,
So the 6 position thing is of the other guys, Colt still sticks with the 4 position one but redesigned (type II), that is interesting! Thanks for the info.

You bet, been hitting this hard too. I am gonna buy one tonight.

Edit: And ask Hoplite if it is type 1 or type 2.

I just put in an order with Hoplite, it's darn hard to get ahold of them (they must be real busy) but once you got thru, it was a breeze in ordering. They do have them in stock and it's $159.99 + $10 (SH), it should arrive  sometime next week. Thanks again beernut. Spooge5150, the gentleman I talked to affirmed it's the second gen one (type II). Good luck with your order and thanks.

Spooge5150,

Do you have any larger pictures?  The one you posted was too small to see any fine details....[;)]

At the risk of hijacking this thread, are colt collapsible stocks superior to the other manufacturers?  If and when the AW ban goes away I would like to get a real collapsible stock for my M4, but I don't want to get what some refer to as a "rattle trap."  Any brands witha  good reputation, or particularly bad reputation?

Bushmaster is excellent,a few years back they finaly started anodizing the tubes and threading them farther back so the lock plate dosent shear off the detent spring from not being able to push it back far enough while screwing the tube in wich is the way the colt ones always were, the whole assembly with H buffer is $115 and is now 6 posistion I got mine when they just came out with the new style stock so its 4 position,I know the colt diameter tubes are a slightly smaller circumference than every one elses so the crane stock and others meant for the colt are tight and I hear wont fit other tubes.I would stick with Bushy,RRA,CMMG or armalite besides colt the ones you see for $30 or $40 are cheap plastic stocks and cast tubes,I know bushy machines theres from a solid aluminum extrusion I dont know about the others on how they are manufactured, for original style telestocks the colt seems to be structuraly better but it only fits there tube.Cav arms stuff also seems good but ive never tried them

Been seeing 6 position tubes with the ribbed style stocks at local gun shows,,,the stocks looks just like a Colt, down to the sling swivel
being captive and not rotating in the slot,,,they have been bringing around $130. The dealer is Black Rilfe Works in Raleigh, NC. Dealer tells me they are made by LMT,,Lewis Machine and Tool,,,I can't tell because they have no markings to indicate the maker,,but the sliding portion of the stock is identical to a Colt.

Received the stock today. It looks real nice. Will post the Colt type I stock with cheek piece & rubber butt pad on the Equipment Exchange board for sale if anyone's interested. I might have to sell the KAC rear swivel sling adapter as well since it doesn't fit on the new stock. Do they make the rubber butt pad for the type II stock? The bare butt plate is a bit to rough to my shoulder.

I've seen a slip-over rubber cover. They pop up all over the place. Should be easy to find.
