Hey, give us some slack, mid-length carbines are the new things and there aren't a lot of them out there yet.  It's my next project, nothing much available till now.  There's going to be some exciting mid-length set ups coming out very soon!

I've been hearing about new mid-lengths for over a month now

This is the picture of a friends rifle that I helped put together. It is M&A mid-length parts kit with stainless barrel, cav-comp brake, on an Oly lower. It shoots as nice as it looks.

VA-gunnut,

Mind if I ask length of barrel on your mid-length upper?

MaverickMkii, it is a 16" barrel.

Some how I find that rifle very visually appealing...no bling, just simple and efficient.

I have to agree, and it was all by accident. My friend had wanted just a standard mid-length. When I placed the order with M&A they said it would ship out the next day because they had the kit in stock. The kit arrived a couple of days later with the stainless barrel. When I called them about the mix-up they said that they were out of the standard barrel and upgraded the kit for free. After it was put together, I couldn't help but think how cool it looked with the stainless barrel, and mid-length hand guards.

I'm waiting for my Hiperform carbon fiber hand guard.  It's the first mid length he's making and trying to find the right length to tell him was a 2 week endeavor in it self.  Anyway the bottom line is 2 inches longer than carbine.  Remember that.

It's going on a flat top with picatinny front site base/gas block.  Flip up front and rear sites with tritium post and rear aperture and Aimpoint and even some NV maybe.  Haven't gotten that far (far=much money) yet.  I have a pistol buffer on a lower and I'm going to try and invent/make some type of retractable stock probably using HK MP5 stuff.  That's if this pistol buffer thing works.  Edited to add: Believe it or not I'll have to limit how far it goes in inorder to comply with Michigans 30" law.  That's with a Phantom flash suppressor on.

Anyway that's the plan.  I'ld post the picture of parts I have so far but I think it would kind of be a let down.
