Thinking of buying a stoner SR-15. Anyone have any opinions on this weapon. Also fair price.

If it had a chrome lined barrel, Id buy one today.  Its a hell of a value considering you get their RAS forearm, back up iron sight and 2 stage trigger.  Do the math on those parts bought seperately + a new RRA or Bushmaster M4 and you can see the value.

Excellent quality.

I think the going price is around $1400.00. Does that sound right.

$1295.00, Ouch! That's a price for a pre-ban, which I'd rather have.

So you missed what I said above?

That includes:

RAS forearm ($300)
BUIS        ($120)
2 stage trigger ($280)

Sounds like a great deal for what you get

What's wrong is the RAS is not FF and the barrel is not chrome lined.  But, I've got to tell you the rifle is a pleasure to shoot !

Best price I've seen for NIB is $1200 and only once.

Ought to be able to find one online for $1200+SH

Love mine. Driver and the trigger is vanilla. Set your finger on the trigger and make a hard wish, it goes bang.

i am planning to move the RAS to my CQB gun and build the SR-15 up as an SPR though, maybe move the trigger group to a preban lower that fits the upper well.

Whats so good about the chrome lined barrel? Is it better for accuracy?

Chrome-lined barrels will let you shoot dirty, cruddy out-of-spec mil-spec ammunition without fear of harming the barrel.  Generally, chrome-lined are viewed as not as accurate as non chrome-lined.  However, I'm less sure of this than I was two years ago.  Chrome-lined barrels have gotten very accurate.

Accuracy potential not as high as unlined, but barrel life is extended quite a bit (200%?)
