That uses the existing mags & bolt carrier, requiring only a Brl swap?

The 100Gn 5.56mm will never see the commercial marjket, and the rainbow trajectory makes it less desirable than the 75 & 77GN OTM loads anyway.

I Really want something 6mm or above using a 90 - 120 gn bullet.

Seems anything with a head diameter of 0.378" will work.

If you put your ear to the ground you can hear it coming.

Oly is making .223 WSM and .243 WSM.  If they can make them work they should kick serious butt.

Don't know if this will fit your requirements but .... http://www.leitner-wise.com/products/82s.htm is certainly new.  They also have a .499 but its a little to heavy by your description.

How will the 223 WSSM and 243 WSSM fit in the magazine? (single stack I suppose).  With all the extra horsepower compared to 5.56 will this rattle the basic AR15?  I know they make 458 SOCOM and 50 Beowulf, but do these rifle turn to trash after 1000 rounds?  Just asking.  Why not get and AR10 and be done with it?

I for one am not a real big fan of all of these knock-off caliber ar's. I am perfectle content with the 5.56x.45 round. It does everything and then some for me. I especially don't care for ar's converted to accept these pistol cartridge rounds.

Since I don't have a pic of mine this will do:

458 SOCOM with Bushmaster front and rear collapsible sight, EoTech, A3 w/ A2 FH.

Mine looks more like this:

[red]458 SOCOM[/red] -- tapered heavy barrel, working A2 type flash hider, working dust cover, A2 fron sight on mine, GG&G A2 flip-up in back, Aimpoint CompM2 in the middle on a GG&G cantilever mount.

Uses standard 20rd and 30rd USGI mags with NO MODS.

Inherently accurate, while even more of a rainbow than the 100g 5.56x45, this gun will put some serious horsepower on target at 200yds, which is well within the kill zone for a light infantry weapon.

300WM 190gr, 308M 168gr, 444 Marlin 240gr, empty 444 marlin, 458 SOCOM 500gr Subsonic, 5.56x45 55gr, 458 SOCOM empty, 300gr 458 projectile, 440 Corbon Magnum empty

I love my .21 Genghis (5.45x39).  AR ergonomics, proven Soviet calibre, cheap to shoot, will feed cheap steel case ammo all day long.

I wanna see the 6.8mm SCAR clones coming out of the wordwork shortly after the TDP on that cartridge is released.  Other than that, I'd be most content with the 6.5mm PPC.

Ditto !

(If I want a .243 or a .308 I go to the AR-10.)

I'd guess the 6.8, and most likely this year.
Good shootin, Jack
