Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Anybody know how to take apart a Colt 7.62 x 39 mag

its for a Colt AR15 7.62 x 39....I have two factory Colt 7.62 x 39 mags that hold 5 rounds only...the mag is the same size as a 20 round .223 mag....anyhow I read somewhere that there's a removeable "metal limiter" inside that can easily be taken out....but the 7.62 mags don't take apart like the .223 mags do....Thanks in advance!!!   jackpot

You have to drill the rivet out of the bottom. You still can only load 5 rounds because the mag wont funcion with more than 5.

First..,Thanks Gun Guru...Well that settles that then, I read somewhere else on here that there was a "metal limiter" inside that could just be removed and increase the round capacity from 5 to ??...I'll just leave well enough alone and look for more 5 round Colt mags....Thanks again Guru!....Russell
