I think I know the solution but I gotta ask the experts on this board. FTE several times today and in the past few weeks I can count on 2 or 3 per trip. Replaced extractor spring W/ M-4 spring from gunsprings.com, but did not replace the insert.. (where can I get one?).On my FTEs the rim on the empty is gouged pretty good but not torn off. The empty comes out easily with a tap from my cleaning rod.. No effort to get it out.. I say worn extractor?? Am I correct? Just need  an expert opinion... John (getting tired of short rounds!!)

The reason the cases come out easily is the pressure is dropped and the case cools and is no longer stuck.

Thanks David.. I dont shoot Wolf or Malaysian stuff.. Extractor spring is new so it must be a chipped extractor.. Thanks for the reply. Hey, where can I get one of the black HD extractor spring inserts?  John
