I hunt hogs with my ar-15. Just make sure that you hit em right behind the ear. Thats the softest spot on their skulls. Its also the hardest spot to hit if they are running [:D]

Calvert, is that a .45 long that your shooting?

I've done it too, with 5.56. North Texas, Pease River. Killed it good and dead too, just needed the soft-tipped rounds, not the FMJ I had with me. Took 3 hits to kill it, since the 5.56 FMJ went straight through.

Ah....where's TheRedGoat when you need him?

Some of his hog hunting pics were the best and stories to go with them.

I've killed several with mine.  Just don't use the military FMJ stuff.  I stuck a 200# hog behind the ear at close range and he just shook his head. I had to finish him between the eyes... good luck

Man I got a great hog hunting story. My cousin Ryan shoots this hog in the head and he thinks that its dead. So he loads it up, its already getting dark so he doesnt gut it, and anyways hes driving down the road with his "dead" hog in the back. Well about 5 minutes down the road the damn thing stands up! Ryan hears something and looks back to see this hog standin there with one eye hangin out of his head just lookin right at him! So he starts swervin tryin to knock the damn thing down. A few seconds later, a cop sees this and proceeds to pull him over for reckless driving not noticing the hog in the back. Ryan pulls over and the hog jumps outa the truck and starts runnin down the highway. The cop doesnt even see it and starts askin for a license and all that while ryans just freakin out. So once the cop finally figures out whats gone on, he and ryan take off down the road to look for the hog and sure enough they find it about a half mile away just layin in the middle of the road. Ryan pops him again gos on his way. [:D]
