I hope my wife won't mind me giving them a little attention now and again!

Introducing my three new, as yet unfired Bushmasters. These are replacements for the two pre-ban Colt Sporters I was forced to sell three years ago for a mere $650 ea. to help pay for a minivan. I've gone 3 years without my black rifles. The only relief I got was some limited trigger time in the Army. Well, I'm a civvy again, and I missed my love(s).

From the top: M4(gery), 20" A2 (Gov't profile bbl) w/ Hogue grip, 16" M4 w/ A2 stock, Hogue grip & ARMS #40 rear sight.

I've pretty much gotten over the sight of a bare  (ok, 'crowned') muzzle end, but I still get ticked off every time I see that fake telestock.  I'm going to replace the A2 stock on the 16" with a Cav Arms C1, and add an EOTech 551. The M4(gery) will get its Mini-Y clipped and replaced with KKF's Limiter 'S' (anyone have experience with these?). I briefly owned an ARMS #45 SIR, but once I decided to go with the EOTech, the SIR had to go (eventually to be replaced with the bi-level).

BTW: for M4(gery)-types, where can one obtain an M4-type front sight assembly (side sling mount)? I have seen the side sling attachment devices that mount to a standard sight assembly, but it would be nice to have a 1-piece unit.

Beautiful family you got there. Hopefully you won't have to sell off your kids like that again. Have fun with 'em.

Thanks... much like my *other* family, I'll only be adding to it. After these, I'm planning on adding a SPR (Krieger SS bbl, OPS brake, PRI flip-up, rifle-length SIR) and perhaps an "M16A1-gery" based on the Fulton Hornet upper.

You can get the side sling adapter/mount for the front sight at bushmaster.com.  That's where I got mine from: it's the good high-quality USGI stuff.  I've seen some others cheaper, but they were aftermarket copies.  I put the side-mount on my Bushy M4, and it is AWESOME!  Oddly enough, I don't use the sling mount at this time, but when/if I have to, it's there, ready and waiting!

Quick heads up: KKF's Limiter 'S' model is only for full length barrels.  The standard Limiter is required to keep that 14.5" barrel at legal length.  The Limiter 'S' is only the length of an A2 flash-hider and that will not bring your barrel out to the 16"+ legal length.

I have a rifle that SHOULD be returning from Kurt soon, myself.  Although I haven't SEEN his work yet (except in pictures here), I have nothing but the highest praise for his customer service.

Edited to add:  My Bushie is also getting an A3 Tac Brake, not a Limiter so I can't claim any experience with the Limiter.  Yet.[:D]

Actually bushmaster popped each of their cherries before they sent them out. they test fire all of their rifles and assembled uppers. Nice rifles, you need to go shoot them alot or they wont like you, lol.

Yeah, I'm gonna be sore when I get done with these...

Edge767, thanks for the reply about the side sling adapter. I have seen these (i.e. Knights), but was wondering about a one-piece unit. The Colt 6400C appears to have one of these.

GunSlingAR, you are correct. I should have said the Limiter, not 'S'. If the Limiter works out well, I will try the 'S' on the 20". I've heard nothing but great things about KKF, so I doubt I'll be *too* disappointed.

I know there have been sites listing comparisons of different brakes & comps, but I have yet to see a "shootout" comparison, with actual side-by-side testing. It would also be interesting to actually test and compare the sound levels of different muzzle devices.

(edited for typo)
