I understand it's a military acronym for clearing jams in an m-16, is it applicable to the ar-15 and if so, what does it stand for?  I figured I'd find it in a search, but no luck.  thanks for any help.  Kyle

Thanks BH1, I think that's applicable to an ar-15.  As for Brass, I've never heard of it, what is it?

B.R.A.S.S.
Breathe
Relax
Aim (focusing on the front sight)
Slack (take up the "slack", on a 2-stage trigger)
Squeeze (as opposed to "pull")

I've only heard this used in target shooting--seems like it wouldn't apply, or would be damn hard to practice in a combat situation...

I don't know about that, but Drill Instructor Sergeant Warren seemed to believe it was applicable to all forms of shooting.

Practice it before the shooting starts.
Do it when it does.
