Diemaco has been around since 1976 they produce the best AR varients out there today. They produce the Canadian C7,C7A1,C7A2 Rifles as well as the C8 Carbine. They are also contracted by Colt for European sales.
The Diemaco parts for the most part are rare as they are not allowed to sell on the civilian market because they are a military contractor for the Canadian Forces, but some surplus parts are now becoming availible. Diemaco receivers will have these markings on the non Canadian Military versions this is an export C8 carbine:

I have a Bushmaster 'A1' upper on one of my rifles that I suspect was actually made by Diemaco.

It's actually a C7 pattern upper, which is basically an A2 upper with the cartridge deflector but it has an M16A1/SP1 style rear sight. The Canadian Army are the only one's I know of using that type of upper in quantity.

FWIW, my Colt M4 upper has a Diemaco receiver.

I have to said, if you can buy a Diemaco, buy it, it is one of the best made AR in the world.  especially with the chrome lined cold hammer forged barrel.

how do know its a diemaco upper? what are the markings?

Couldn't find any markings on the upper. That's why I can only say I 'suspect' that it may be a Diemaco since they supply the Candian military with their M16 varient and there probably isn't a big enough demand for that particular style of upper to justify anyone else manufacturing it.

Diemaco upper receivers can be found in the US, thats not a problem.

What SMGLee is talking about are Diemaco barrels, these are RARE in the US. Almost to the point that they don't exist........

All modern A1's are now C7's, you have to look around to find an A1 without the brass deflector, even harder to find the slab side without either the deflecter or forward assist.
Currently Bushmaster,DPMS,Oly and others have been carrying A1/C7's with the Anchor Harvey "splintered A" forge mark.

What does the "splintered A" receiver mark look like? I have not seen one and I am curious.

Click the Anchor Harvey link, the symbol is in the upper left. The "splintered A" is actually an A over a H.

Hey Kisara,

Thanks for the pic...! You know the old adage "you learn something every day..." Well today you're the teacher...

I'm half ashamed to admit (my Canadian half), that I didn't realize my  LE6920 had a Diemaco upper until I saw your pic... I had my suspicions as I read along here... but your contribution made me say... damn... and then run to my safe...

Thanks again... and thanks 552bigdog for asking...

STP.
