[ARCHIVED THREAD] - 11.5" Barrel

Could I install a 11.5" Bushmaster Barrell into a Colt M-4 without encountering any problems?
Would a Bushmaster 11.5" Upper Receover Barrel Assembly mate with by Colt Lower Receiver?

If a bullet fed low it would slifde up the Colt extended ramp and catch oo the barrel extension of the Bushmaster barrel and cause a malfuction. Also Bushmaster does not sell 1/7 twist 11.5" barrels. If you want this you need to get a 14.5" 1/7 twist Bushamster barrel and cut it down to 11.5" and open the gas port up. Also while your at it you would cut in extended feed ramps to the barrel extension to match the Colt ramps on the receiver.

You might check out MSTN. They had some commando uppers some time back. Also TROY IND. HAS alot of bbls. and uppers of various lengths.

just make sure you have your approved ATF form for SBR, before mating the 11.5 inch upper to the lower.
