I think http://www.kurtskustomfirearms.citymax.com/page/page/8932.htm may have done some copies, but don't quote me on that.

If not, try this guy [urlhttp://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=22&t=159426&w=searchPop

He's selling some homegrown DOE clones so perhaps he could get your the front sight assembly.  BTW, the DOE setup is still high on my list of 'must have' uppers, maybe after the ban goes away (if) I'll SBR a lower.

HKocher,

I am waiting on my ATF Form......I am planning to send my upper to Kurts to have it chopped to 7.5. I am looking at the Oly FIRSH in 3.75" and  I think I need something to put in front of it......(postban) Thanks for the info.....there is also a company called Garrison Mfg that makes short uppers.....

The original DOE flip-up front sight was done by Colt (engineer's) in the late 1980's.

To make one today, you could modify a GG&G flip-up front sight/gas block combo. The original handguard is from a M231 port firing gun.
