Do any of you have an AR15 with FN upper on it?  If so, can you post some pics or at least post some links to pics of one.  It appears there is one for sale in my area and I might go look at.  Any info would help.

Before a bunch of brand snobs start with the hyperbole; are FN parts prohibited parts?

-ed, there are, literally, thousands of "FN" kit built rigs on this site.[;)]

I've got an FN upper...but no digital cam.  Mine is marked LK and is excellent.  It is dark gray however, not black.

FN as in Frickin uNknown or Frickin Noname.

Be very cautious of FN parts.

And of course we all know that the KNOWN ones never have any performance issues hahahaha.
I'm sure that some of these receivers may be of questionable quality and origin; but my guess is that if Kaiser could market an off brand (i.e. Armalite/Eagle),those LK marked recievers diverted from the FN plant would be marketed as a co-brand like Eagle Arms. There are more than a few reputable AR dealers and smiths selling the FN recievers.

What's the deal with the "FN Contract" uppers in the JT kits?

Unless it says "FNMI" it's not really made by FN

The gunshow specials that call 'em FN are really saying " I have no F'in idea who made it !"

Complete upper - the barrel would be marked FNMI as stated and the receiver would be marked LK.  I'll try to include links to pice I just took. Got the camera working..now if I can only remember how to do this.

Here are links to ALL the official FN websites. I have a special little folder in my favorites just for FN stuff.

http://www.fnmfg.com/
http://www.fnhusa.com/
http://www.herstalgroup.com/
http://www.fnherstal.com/

Only ones marked FNMI might just be or at one time were real FNs. The only other FN marks are "Herstal". My only question is are they chrome lined? If not then they are probably not real.

I e-mail FN about htis  but never got a reply. They are probably more snooty than the people at HK. lol.

BTW if you ever want a great handgun you cant go wrong with a FN Hi-Power,

I have an upper receiver that I purchased that was supposedly an FN. It has a keyhole shaped marking with 3 dots in it on near the sight assembly on the right side. It also does not have the M4 feed ramp cuts. I did not know about the about the FN parts issues at the time I purchased it. If anyone knows who manufactured this upper receiver and if it is any good I would appreciated it.
               Thanks,
