I saw an interesting quote from the following article.
goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20030530/OPINION09/105300250A person ask why does anyone need a "M16 or AK47"? The writer replies;
And first-graders don't need ice cream and soccer moms don't need Ford Excursions.

He went on to write that there is a big difference between need and want.
I used this response to a freind's similar question. (He is a city prosecutor.) He responded by saying: "Ice cream doesn't kill children."
Then I said, "Ice cream may not kill children quickly, but over a lifetime more kids die from too much fat than from any other cause!"
He didn't change his mind about the AWB but it did get him thinking.
Think about it what is the greater danger to our kids: Guns or Fat?

PS
Ice cream is still a choice. We don't need any regulation there either. NO NANNY STATE!
