one of the biggest things wrong with AR's is there mags. If it works for you please let us know but I'm leaving mine alone I'll just load one in the chamber. Really please let give feedback after doing this to several mags and how are you getting the lips back to spec? Why can't you just remove the floor plate? Sorry if I'm ignorant but this sounds pretty fishy to me. Thanks

HUH?

The only people who ever have problems with AR mags are guys who continue to buy $5 USA mags... Buy GI mags, and you won't have problems... unless of course you buy $5 worn out mags.

This same guy [:K] is still playing on the internet with his airsoft guns?

first it was the ATF agent coming to his house

2nd it was he was going into the military etc

3rd it was how to make a post ban with pre-ban

Now it is this......

good grief.

what would I need 50 for?

Why, the mutants, of course.

Oops, they've gone up to $9.99 at
CDNN Investments

But still, $5 or $10, they're not worth $1, so why buy them at all?

The good ones (USGI Aluminum) start around $20 each, which still won't break the bank.  Or if you gotta have steel, buy the SA80 mags from Tapco!

But if you really still want junk, here's a 40 round mag for $12.95!

12 Easy steps to make a functional 31 round mag from a USA steel mag....

1.  Pry back feed lips on USA mag.

2.  Remove Spring and follower.

3.  Insert spring and follower into USGI body.

4.  Remove spring and follower your new mag.

5.  Replace with USGI or Wolff spring and green follower.

6.  Put new USGI floor plate on magazine.

7.  Load with M193.

8.  Insert mag into rifle.

9.  Lock and load.

10. Remove mag from rifle.

11. Top off with 1 round.

12. Reinsert magazine.

You should try this! It really works well!

I guess you where right, I tried pulling the plate out with pliers and it moved. I just assumed it was fixed in place because there was some discoloration like the kind caused by welding.

If any one knows where to find dirt cheap USA steel mags, tell me, I only take my rifle to the range so it doesn't matter if they fail on me, I would just like to have a bunch of these to fill in my ammo pouches

"What a magical pile of Najavo horse shit.." -Nicolos Cage, Windtalkers

Seriosuly though the reason the cheap mags suck is because when the bolt slides across the top of the round on it's way back to eject a spent cartridge it will sometimes cause the new round to jump out of the mag. This could be fixed by weakening the spring I guess..
I was an idoit and bought alot before I knew any better so maybe I'll try it tonight and let you guys know..
