Just wondering what AR, or rifle accessories you just could not live without.  I am going to pick up a Lula this weekend at the gunshow.  But wondered what you all really have found to be a good product for your rifle, etc...  I personally have been real happy with some products like corrosion x www.corrosionx.com/gun_use.html , the magazine refurbish thread is awesome www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=17&t=82469...

Lets see what you all feel has been a necessity to your gun maintenence, or rifle...  Dont worry about repeat items,  let the ideas rip,  as your info cal help others....

Uh oh, here goes another [flame].
I would answer this question but I don't know where to start.  I'll start with the basics.  I could not live without my Hogue pistol grips.  Like Lumpy said, USGI mags with green followers are also a "must have".

Definately a tactical light. If you have no way to identify your target, you might end up shooting the wrong person. Also, all you need is one light on the gun, not three or five like I have been seeing too much of.

In so far as i consider magazines and a sling part of the weapon, i'll say my must have accessory is a tactical light.

Stretching the boundaries of the question, but...

The best thing to spend your money on for your AR (or any other gun) is...AMMO & RANGE TIME.  (IMHO)

Just like I see many guys who dump barrels of money into accessories for their car, and can't drive their way out of a paper bag...

But hey...I also think cars/guns are to a large extent emotional subjects & purchases, so get what makes you happy!  It's your money & gun.

A good gun case, lots of good quality mags, lula loader, ammo, optics, cleaning kit and anything you might use to make the gun more comfortable or accurate. Like free float the barrel, two stage trigger, comfortable grip that puts the finger in good position, sling and something to hold the gun when cleaning it is nice. That covers allot of the must haves. Then there are the wants and would kill for's lol.

Most important thing for me is the collapsable stock.  Hence I own a pre-ban.

(I need a more compact rifle)

Another vote for ammo & mags.

I'm no gear whore either.  Of all my guns I really love my Colt Sporter leightweight.  It's only about 6lbs, the thing is so light I can acquire targets FAST!

Why can I only have one, there is more then one i need to operate my AR, come on, optic, lights, magazine and ammo.  I can live with out aqny of them. JK.

My choice would be magazines.  good ones preferrably HK made SA80 mags, but if I can't have them the it will be a USGI with green follower.  damn Lumpy, we think alike. [:)]

I can think of lots of accessories that are cool, but the one thing most overlooked could very well be the tactical charging handle.

After taking a recent defensive carbine training course.  This handle proved invaluable for doing those quick rackings of the bolt during a failure or simulated failure.  We were trained to take care of the failure with the sights on the target, essentially fixing the failure from feel.  The tactical charging handle add-on I use made this a lot easier and quicker in my opinion.

Hey Kalel...a little off the subject, but where/what defensive carbine course did you take?  What were your impressions?  Thanks!
