Quoted: be mounted on a post ban rifle? The mags we use are all "pre-ban" manufactured, right? Why not the collapsable stocks? Am I wrong on this? TIA |

No. "Semi-automatic assault weapons" (AWs) are banned, meaning it's illegal to create new ones. A semi-auto rifle that accepts detachable mags is allowed to have only ONE banned feature. On a standard AR, that is the pistol grip. Adding any additional features from the banned list would be creating an illegal AW. The other items are:
- folding/collapsable stock - bayonet lug - flash suppressor or threaded barrel (includes sound suppressors) - grenade launcher (includes any 22mm muzzle device) Only guns that are grandfathered AWs, meaning guns that were in AW configuration on 9/13/94, can legally be in AW configuration, and you have to be able to PROVE that your gun was grandfathered. These guns are referred to as "pre-bans" for short. -Troy |
