I haven't seen a "Support Bushmaster" thread on this forum for quite some time.

Lest we forget, in 1995 mega-corporation Dow-Corning filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. This was the direct result of huge sums having been awarded to individuals who claimed injuries and suffering, the result of silicone breast implants, by juries who were fed a great deal of emotion accompanied by a paucity of good scientific data.

Bushmaster is small potatoes compared to Dow-Corning. If a well-picked jury decides to lower the boom on Bushmaster, it is entirely possible the company will not be able to recover from the financial loss.

We don't even need to go into the disasterous legal precedent such a decision would create...

I would hope that those who express such admiration for a company, based to no small extent on their customer service, return the favor by actively supporting their legal position by writing to the appropriate legislators.

If they had the smarts to make them out of Titanium, they would have never been sued. (Did I just say that?!?!) [;)]

The human body does reject silicone either. To assume something as inert as medical grade silicone caused breast cancer is rediculous. It was a clever scam pulled off by trial attorneys. They never proved that the silicon was responsible for the cancer, or if those women would have developed malignant tumors even if no implant was present. Morons in a jury awarded the money due to media tampering with the case after being conditioned to believe there *was* a causal relationship between those factors.
