OK, here is something I need help to understand.

Original method:
CAR stock rear sling attachment has sling out to the side. Front sling attachment under front sight post. So it side in the back and under in the front.

New improved method:
M4 stock has sling attachment at the bottom of the stock and then matches with side sling adapter in front so the sling hooks on the bottom in the rear and on the side in the front.

Seems to me it should be side-side or under-under for less twist/easiest carry.

I put side/side sling loops on all my AR's. Just got one of GG&G's single point sling mounts for my fixed stock Bushmaster. Looks neat, but I have not installed it yet. Got the M4 front swivel on this one also.
