 i bought the ar i've been looking at.lower reciever says pwa commando,ser#50492.upper i think is colt.a-1 type W/0 forward assist.20 inch barrel says;FNMI MP 5.56 NATO 1/7,has pinned bird cage,a-2 handguards.a-1 buttstock.gun is in excellent shape.i plan on getting rid of the a-1 upper for an a-2 w/assist and the a-1 stock for a-2.i have $550.00 in it.did i  do bad?

Are you sure it has a bird cage flash hider, and not a muzzle brake?  The serial number you listed would make it post ban, and if it has a pistol grip (duh) it would be illegal with a flash hider.

pwa was bought out by rock river. Milsepec products. Good merchandise. email me if you decide to get rid of the upper.[beer]

PWA's are fine receivers, generally a "sleeper" 'cause few people know about them.  It should serve you well.
