I am putting together an M-16 slick side look alike rifle package on a preban Colt receiver.  To complete the package I need to know what kind of sling was originally issued and also what type of bayonet.

Thank You,
G. Jason Payne

Plain green M1 sling same as on M1 & M14. M7 bayonet in M8A1 scabbard. Gobs of all three readily available at surplus dealers everywhere.

It would be interesting if a M7 collector out there could list
off some  of the various makes of the original
M7's prior\post to when they were being issued with
M10 scabbards.

I believe a few were Cammilus,Ontario Knife Co.,
Solingen and perhaps Colt(stamped)?
