If I was to match an Armalite upper with a Bushy lower, could one tell by just looking at the finish? Do both use the same type of finish and teqhnique.

I want to do the same with a Armalite lower and a Bushmaster or Colt black upper.

They all use milspec anodizing so the colors should match.  Once in a while Bushmaster will let a receiver out that wasn't properly anodized and looks purplish in tint.  Otherwise the receivers should match.  DPMS receivers use a teflon coat over the anodizing and may not match exactly, but most others will match.
