I believe currently they are .223.  They are built on M16A1 surplus lowers so that eliminates .308.  I think they may also have .223 match chambers insteead of 5.56mm NATO cahmbers as the barrels are match grade Douglas or Krieger barrels.

The SPR is all 5.56 NATO. There are some semi 7.62 sniper rifles in the US military inventory (like the NSW Mk11 Mod0), but they are not the SPR's.
