I didnt, but would love to hear from those who did... What kind? What model? Is it your first AR? Got a picture?

I bought myself a Oly forged lower w/post ban coll. stock and Oly lower parts kit from TripeBreak.com. It looks pretty good. It says "Cal. Multi" on the side, rather than 5.56 and I think the Oly pistol grips are about the worst looking of any I've seen, other than that I'm happy.

It hasn't come in yet but it's a Bushmaster 20" fluted barrel with an A3 removeable carry handle.  Can't waite.

Ditto on the A3 (non-flute) if the wait time is acceptable, otherwise a Bushie M4gery will come my way... unless of course a preban deal too good to pass up appears.

Howdy all.  Been lurking a while, and this is my first post.  Can't resist replying to this thread.  Bought myself a Christmas present - an AR E2 kit from M&A (www.m-aparts.com).  Used my Colt SP1 lower.  No real bitches, but chamber finish could be better, and it would have been REAL handy if they'd have included an adapter front pivot pin.  Chrome Moly barrel - Wilson Match HBAR.  S&H was reasonable and quick.

Well, I didn't get a whole Rifle, but I did get the parts to finish mine up.

Lemme know what you guys think... I took it out and shot it yesterday it's a blast to shoot.  But I think it needs to go on a diet...  Perhaps turn down the HBAR to a consistent A2 profile all the way down...  (from what I heard, it won't affect the accuracy out to 300, which is the max I'll ever shoot this)

Hey NEPA, great rifle.  All you need is a fake flash suppressor to complete it.  You could have one installed when you have the barrel turned down.

I got (well will get once paypal goes through) a preban 11.5 inch barrel with 4.5 inch FH A1 upper going on a LEO bushmaster lower with 3 position stock.  Now I need some mags and ammo.

Thanks Knight,

Yeah, I think I'll be doing 'something' to the front.. just have to find a muzzle break that I like...  Everything is too close to being a 'supressor' and I don't want there to ever be any question about the legality of my rifle...

Because once I get a preban someday, I'm going to town on it. :D  Gemtech Supressor, and all... :P

NEPA, be sure you let Kurt at KKF do your barrel work, he also has a nice A2 looking comp to go on the end of that barrel. I have a exactly the same setup on one of  my Colt's. 16" chrome lined HBAR with SIR M model. I am leaving the barrel profile alone, but I am mounting a Ops Inc. brake.

Very nice, have fun!

A new AR ?  Sorta, kinda....last Friday Mr. Brownells' folks sent me a new 16" preban barrel and CAR hand guards. I spent the day cleaning the gunky spray paint off a 20" Colt upper / EA lower that's had little use lately.

I've got that upper rebarreled now and tomorrow morning I'll screw in a new 4 POS CAR stock and torch off a few (OK - maybe a bunch)

Well, not new.  But, I finally tracked down my old Colt Carbine that I carried in a few memorable SWAT expeditions.  I had traded it for a 1975 Dodge van at a time when I needed wheels more than rifles and my agency finally bought us our own M16s.  Since cops trade off guns as often as they trade off wives, it had been through a few hands.  I told the guy that it had sentimental value and traded him for a brand new Bushmaster A2 rifle and some boot.
Just in time for Xmas.

I DID...I DID
Well, I treated myself to a early xmas present about 2 weeks ago.  Bought a bushmaster LE/Govt. 16" HBAR, flat top from a recently divorced guy from work.  He just bought it new last month, then the attorney's bill came....he never even got to put a round through it.  $700, hey, it was for a good cause.

merry christmas to me, merry christmas to me!

I've known about my Christmas present for a few months now which is why I've been lurking for some time around here!

I received a Bushy Varminter w/ a Bushnell 8-32x40 Elite 4200 scope and a Harris bipod.  I'm nervous about breaking it in correctly, and still need to pick up a few odds and ends to make sure i have all the cleaning stuff I need.  I can't wait to get the thing out to the range!

It's called a 'Homemade cheapass'  [:D]

I took the standard GI issue sling, had my girlfriend sew the end over the main strap after looping it around the neck of the A2 stock.  This created an attachment point.  Then, I just looped the other end back through a stay, and adjusted to fit.  For my body height and build, when I sling the loop over my head and left arm, it hangs single point perfectly with grip at waistline.

When I have a few more dollars, I will be getting the GG&G sling plate along with either a M4 Collapsible fused stock (haven't totally decided yet) or just the GG&G plate for the fixed stock.  (haven't decided which stock to keep yet, but am leaning towards the fixed collapsible for weight reasons)

It ain't an AR15, but I am talking to George at GA Precision about a .260 Rem upper for my AR-10. Should be sweet! Then, I have to pick up a Weaver Classic 4-16 to go on top.

Well, mine wasn't a surprise, I've had it on layaway for 3 months.

I got a Bushmaster M4 (you guys call it M4gery?) with the standard caryy handle upper.

My wife picked it up two days b4 xmas so my boy and I could go shoot it b4 the busy holiday.

The boy liked it so much, I'll probably need to get hime one too! He's 10.

I used to spend a lot of time hear a couple years back. I had to part with my pre-ban Colt, but now I'm back. Ahhh... the sweet smell of CLP and gunpowder! I love it!

Bought a new Busmaster XM15-A2S 16"carbine and a J&T 20" expedition kit also have on order 2 RRA striped lowers for my Christmas present. Think I would like to build a mid length on the second lower looking at an Armalite top end for this.

Well, I did not get a "new" AR for Christmas, does a Cavalry Arms lower count?....., but I got a Lauer Custom Weaponry Professional Finishing Kit with enough DuraCoat (in matte black and four camo finishes) to refinish all my AR15's and AR10's and a few misc rifles and handguns.  At least they'll look like new.

Anyone interested in seeing the pics posted as a before and after type of deal?

I was fortunate enough to find a new Colt Match Target m4 in a local Pawn and Gun.  While Santy wasn't good enough to leave it under my tree it is safely laid away pending a zero balance.  Whoooo Hooooo!

I did, well almost anyway, traded for a new Bushmaster V-Match w/20" heavy barrel and added a Leupold CQ/T scope and mounts.  Added a JP trigger and set out today to test drive this rifle after cleaning and a lub job.

Way good, much more accurate than I expected, chrome chamber and barrel that I had read was inferior to non-chrome. Cheap remanufactured ammo from 3-D/Hornaday was all I shot today, 55 grain soft point stuff that unctioned with not even one stoppage at all today.  Five shot groups at first 25 yards, then 100 yards, were spectacular. Five for 5 three times in a row at the 300 yard railroad rail (5" tall).  Way better than I expected.

Now, if I can get a few magazines and a boat load of ammo for my January birthday I will be all set!

With PRIOR APPROVAL from the spousal unit, I purchased a Colt MT6400C last week.  This is the first AR15 I've owned since I traded a Colt AR15 collaspable stock back in 1985!  I look forward to trying it out.

I got my first AR15 this Christmas (couple of weeks early since I had to go buy it), and I love it.  I've spent a long time waiting for this day.  It's a Bushmaster M4, mini Y-Comp. (might change latter when I recover financially).

Now I just need to get some mags, ammo, and a few accessories.
