Well, the one thing is that RRA 2-stage trigger.

My bushy 20" HBAR has Badger Ord. tactical latch, RRA trigger, Hogue grip. The Pink CAR-wannabe (my wife's) and the AR10A4C have these, also(except for the pink Ergogrip).

What do you guys think is "mandatory"?

If the AR is a weapon, then it needs a weapons light. And a sling, its a holster for your rifle. There's a couple other things that are desirable, but optional.

Hogue grip
Accu-wedge, whether it needs it or not.

Hogue Grip & A1 Stock.

Gapper and A1 buttstock.

Anything else is entirely dependant on what I intend to use the rifle for.  Generally it includes some kind of illuminated optic (red-dot, scope, or tritium sights).

All three of my AR's have the Badger Tactical Latch now. Two of my AR's are flattops so I installed the ARMS# 38 swan sleeve/rear sight assembly on them.

All my AR's have the KAC RAS rail system - I just like it better then standard handguards - will look into tactical lights/laser etc. more in the future. I still need optics for the two with A3 uppers, will probably save up for a quality Aimpoint or Trijicon ACOG.

A sling has its pros/cons - some times they get in the way and I prefer to not have one. Good quality mags are very important - I function test all my mags through my AR's to make sure there are no malfunctions. I'm still debating on replacing my A2 pistols grips. Looking at the Sierra Precision Rifles grip, Ergo grip, or Hogue grip as possibilities - will see what happens there.

Also on prebans, I REALLY like the new 6 position RRA collapsible stock - more user friendly to me then the old CAR-15 stock. It was worth the $80-$100 I paid for it.

I have tried various grips, triggers, tac slings, etc. and ended up selling them.  They have not really added anything to the performance of the rifle.  I like to keep it simple and not get used to training with nonstandard parts.

I do switch hammers around until the trigger is 7 pounds or under.

The only accessory (other than a BUIS for an A4) I consider worthwhile is an Aimpoint/ARMS#22, for close encounters and the dark.

Trijicon ACOG on all defensive rifles I can afford to put it on (currently, I can afford 1!)

I gotta go with imposter, I don't like a buncha stuff hanging off my rifle.  I work the FCG untill I get a decent pull, put in a teardrop forward assist (just cause it looks better) spend the rest of the money on ammo.

There is something to be said for the K.I.S.S. principle, besides, if it works, why fix it.  I keep one AR15 totally stock, and amazingly enough - it works just fine.  However, one look at my tactical toy and you know I am an accessory whore.

Trijicon Riflescope (Acog, Accupoint, Reflex)
& not on all my ARs, Some stay pure!
PS: All have slings & I dont consider a sling an add on, A sling is standard equipment!

There are 3 things I do to all my AR-15 rifles,

1. Gapper (yes, I've blistered my finger)

2. McFarland gas ring

3. some sort of side sling adaptor (depending on rifle configuration)

That's all..........
