What type of ammo are Pre ban SP1 owners using?  I own a Pre ban SP1 barrel stamp C MP B.  SP1 have M16 Chambers (chrome-line) with chrome-lined bores.

You stuck with 45, thru 55 grainers, any factory load will do.

Does this include M193 55 grain nato vs commercial .223?

You can shoot pretty much ANY ammo in it, commecrial, surplus, or otherwise, up to about 60gr.

I shoot South African 55gr battlepack ammo, and Wolf 55gr. in mine.

I have a '76 SP1 and I use PMC and PMP all day long...no probs....gonna get me a couple S. African battle packs before the holidays.  Glad to see them mentioned for the SP, I was wondering about that myself.

I was shooting the SA surplus out of my SP1, it holds a grouping of about 4-5 inches at 200 yards with iron sights off hand.

That Winchester 45 grain varmit load stuff you get at Wally World works really well, I was getting consistant 3 inch groupings with it at 200 yards using sandbags as a bench rest.

I am sure that the Black Hills stuff would work better as would custom reloads.
