What are you trying to accomplish with your rifle?
Chrome=acceptable accuracy and extreme durability Stainless=greate possible precision in manufacturing/extreme accuracy. I want to be able to hit a 10" pie pan at 400yds and I don't want my barrel to wear out even though I shoot thousands of rounds per year. I choose military specification chrome lined barrels in my ARs and I choose stainless in my bolt action rifles. |

When this one wears out, I assume I can have Bushmaster put in the Mil Spec chrome?

Of course! You could buy the barrel and a few tools and swap barrels every other day if you felt like it.
