I was looking at the RRA website and noticed their varmint rifles are available with a "elevated optical platform" upper that is one inch taller than standard. My question is, what is the purpose of the taller upper? I thought you wanted the scope closer to the barrel.

To give you better clearance for large-belled scopes without having to go to extra high rings.
