I'm building a light-weight AR15 carbine for my wife and want to paint the A1 stock, handguard and A2 grip with bow-flage paint.

For those of you who has tried bow-flage, will it adhere to these parts well?  Any special prep required? How long to dry/cure?  How durable is the paint and will it stand up to high temperature?  I'm mainly concerned with the durability on the handguard due to the heat from the barrel after couple mags of rapid fire.
