New M96 Rifle, 20", flip up A2 style iron sights.

NICE! Very accurate rifle, used Fed LC XM193 Lot 1 & Lot 6. Myself, ARH & the_reject all
had a go with it - Very nice trigger.

The only problem for me was not being able to see/feel the mag seat as you can with an AR-15.
The first try I had with it, the mag fell out.
You really have to seat it hard. Used both USGI 30 rounders & US Thermolds.
Will look into adjusting the mag catch.

Shot it along with my Bushmaster 20"HBAR, about the same recoil - I actually thought the AR had less.
I'll play with the gas adjustment next time.

I like it! I'm happy with it...Now to strip it and clean.

setting the knob to the lowest gas setting has been keeping my M96 running well and dropping shells almost 10 feet away. Crank it up to the highest and it kicks more and the brass might come down in the next county!

Do you have the rifle or the carbine?
I have the rifle (20"), but am planning on getting a Recon 16" kit.

Shooting it was really fun, but I'm getting a bigger thrill playing with the bolt assy!
That bolt is really cool! I wonder if an AR extractor would work in this bolt?
It sure looks like it would......
