Just as I was about to call J&T the Big Brown Truck rang my doorbell bringing me my 20in A2 kit. A quick visual shows that everything is there, the upper looks the same as the 20in Bushy the local gun store has. Only thing is when all is said and done my cost for parts will be $568 whereas the gunstore is listing that rifle for $900.
Looking at the fire control parts really impressed me. Then again it's easy to impress me, considering my last rifle was a SKS sporter.
All the parts were cleanly machined, a nice finish on all of them. The parts that will make contact were polished.
All in all, I think I got quite a deal considering that my rifle in the end will really kick @**. Some of my friends back at school are considering building one of their own.
Now I just have to wait for that darned DPMS forged recieved to come in.
My original plan was to have a plinker to compliment my 10/22. I wanted it to look mean, shoot at least 2-1.5 groups at 100yds and I think I just may have a winner on my hands here. B/c my SKS sporter sure doesn't cut it.
I will add pictures as I build this bad boy too.
