Earl from IWC sent off these two new items that his company Impact Weapon Components (IWC) is making. I received them yesterday in a tiny little box that neatly contained everything including a clear plastic strip which helps simplify the install of the mounting plates. At first I was skeptical on whether or not this little plastic strip would do the job, but it worked like a charm. Installation was a breeze, even for a heavy handed break-a-lot like myself.
I applied a drop of blue loc-tite on the thread of the mounting screw for added security.
My initial impression on this kit is that it is exactly what those of us running Troy/VTAC TRX BattleRail's have been waiting for. Very low-profile and minimum of parts which drops some weight. The machining of the parts is very clean and the black anodized finished is well done. The packaging is really well thought out with the mounting instructions printed on the inside of the box.
I will get the opportunity to run this new kit a bit over the next few weeks with department training and an upcoming match. I will report back after I get to run the IWC kit thru it's paces a bit.
If the IWC kit holds up as I expect it will, I will likely swap out my Surefire X300 weaponlight set-up for a ScoutLight/IWC mount-n-slot combo.
Thanx Earl!
