I have used one for a few months now. The glass is a lot better than you would expect for a $120 scope. The illumination is not meant for daytime use, but closing the front cap allows you to use it as an OEG (occluded eye gunsight), which works pretty well for scoring COM hits out to a certain distance, even when the sun is out.
I have it in the mount pictured. I've never taken it off since zeroing, but it has maintained zero. I was able to quickly and effectively "engage" clay pigeons at 50 yards from the standing with no difficulty at all magnification levels. |

Ok gang I have been building on my Vepr AK and need to add a DMS-type scope to it. I am currently running a StrikeFire on a slide on receiver mounted rail, this was what I thought I wanted. As my needs and ideas have changed I want a 1-4x scope with illumination. So how will the PA work on this mounting system? Thoughts, help, suggestions? I am ready to order my FIRST PA optic right now. I have a set of 30mm tactical rings on hand already, but will I need a different mount for eye-relief?
HELP ME PLEASE! Pics to come... |

If you are using a side plate mount, that combo will not work with this 1-4x scope. Like the DMS scope, this PA scope is too long when used with an AK side mount. You don't have enough eye relief unless an extended mount is used. But the scope just sits too high that way. The correct rail mount to use with this P.A. scope is the TWS dog-leg type. Else you need a scope with OAL < 10.5". |

This definitely seems to be the right optic for my uses. Its cheap, its good quality, and its a 1-4 power so i can use it on my 22 and my ar (whenever it gets finished)
So my only question is what mount i would need to mount it to a typical ar15 platform and be able to use a rear magoul mbus? it looks like the PA extended mount? |

Yes you want the deluxe extended with a 1-4X. Most low profile rear flips will fit under the scope. You do have to remove the scope to use the rear iron sight. Marshall |

Looks just like mine, except I'm still debating on an optic. What mounts are you rinning, and how is your cheekweld?? Thanks!!

Sweet looking set-up, just curious, what mounts are you running with your scope, and how is your cheekweld? Thanks!! |

That's good stuff!! Keep up the good work, we need more of this to keep our sport going |
|
What MOA is the reticle?
Also does any one have pics of all the mounts? |
|
I'm not positive, but the center dot seems to be about 1moa at 4x.
ETA: Ok, so I'm lousy at estimating. It's more like 2moa. I was using some targets with a 2" circle in the center yesterday and at 100 yards the center dot just about perfectly covered them. Combined with the way the crosshairs are setup it was actually a really good combination on those targets for sighting in. I didn't feel like I was struggling to get the exact same point of aim. The particular target in question is the second down on the right. http://www.reloadbench.com/pdf.html As folks have already said, the clarity is excellent for the price, or even a good bit more money. My particular unit is most definitely daylight illuminated. I'll get my full writeup and pics posted in a few days but if anything I'm even happier with it than I was originally. |

I'm new to shooting and have never used a scope before, I used your 1-4 power scope for my first pig hunt. I looked at other higher priced scopes out there but I'm very happy with this scope. I was able to swap from my A1 upper to my scoped upper during the last stage of a match when it got dark, I turned it on and used it on one power like a red dot. Great scope, with two in one uses!

BACON!!! http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/ab87/Paz-man/A3%20AR/Hunt1h.jpg Thanks Primary Arms! Marshall and Mick, you now have another loyal customer, you have great prices on your products and have great service too. |

My review and some pics can be found at http://blog.wolftactical.us/blog1.php
If you flip through to earlier posts there are also reviews of the gen 2 microdot (a blem in my case, but most of it applies to any of the micros) and the M3 multi. Keep an eye out for a write up of the laser unit in the near future as well. |

The glass is really clear!!! No chromatic or shperical aberrations at the edges. I assume this is a second focal plane scope, correct?
Can somebody post a picture of the X hair w/ illumination indoor/outdoor; at 1X and 4X, please??? Thanks |

loving my extreme mount + 1-4x combo.
but, the example pics show it coupled with a MBUS, I find that the hight prevents irons to be used at all, and if i move the mount far enough forward to mount irons, I am too far for the proper eye relief for 4x magnification. do you also provide / sell any replacement caps for the adjustment knobs? i just can't find one of them no matter what bag i look in (i did get both with the optic, its my stupidity) |

Even though it is not QD the mount is not hard to take off and the return to zero is good. Shoot me a email and I will round up a cap. |

Recieved my new 1-4X scope in the mail today.
I'll have it mounted on my 16" RRA middy and zeroed by tomorrow. I'll post my results. |

Im really tempted to pick one of these up and give it a try on my FA NFA FNC. Run what maybe 1200 or so rounds through it all on FA to see if it will stand up? Do a zero group and an after just to see if it can retain or blow into dust like the haters say. Just to see if I can dispell all the chicom optic hate. Hey PA cut me a deal on one?
Going to the site to find price and details on rings. |
|
This scope holds up to .450 Marlin in a bolt action (recoil similar to 3.5" slug). It should hold fine on an FNC.

Got my PA 1-4X last month. First off I would like to say that customer service at PA is excellent. I purchased the deluxe 30mm mount to go with my optic and the mount was missing two screws for the caps.
I sent an IM to Marshall and the next day an email was in my box saying my parts were inbound. The screws arrived within two days and even included a couple extras. I am also very pleased with the optic and mount. It's a lot of optic for the money and fills a good niche between a red dot and high magnification scope. The dot recticle is fast and easy to see and with a little patience is just as precise as a standard cross hair. Very fast on steel inside 100m and at 4X on my RRA/S&W middy will group 1.3" (center to center) from a hasty rest (range bag) at 100m using 64gn Speer GDSP. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g81/85buick/Range2.jpg RRA/S&W 16" HB middy, R-guns LPK, Ace ARFX, HTG Aris-4, PA 1-4X w/ Deluxe Mount |

Does the Millet DMS cat tail work on this? Yes and no. We made a few changed earlier this year and the zoom ring was one of them. I might have a few from a earlier shipment that will fit. Marshall |

Marsh, I want to replace a 4x32 with your 1x4 on my flat top AR. I currently have the 4x32 in your standard AR15 mount. Link. Will it work with this mount or do I absolutely need the deluxe extended? I have an mbus under the rear of the scope.
Thanks. |
|
i ordered the scope sat and got in mon, thats fast shipping. I am telling everyone about PA, you guys rock!
|
|
I dropped it and my FAL off the roof of my Jeep and it survived with just minor cosmetic damage.
|
|
Anyone know what the parallax setting is on these? I'd like to use this on a .22lr but 100 yards would be further than I plan to use the scope most of the time.

what flip up rear is in this pic? http://primaryarms.com/images/EXTG2.jpg I'm seriously considering moving to the PA 1-4x on my patrol rifle. I need to 110% sure of it's reliability first. I also need to verify compatibility with my stuff! Scope cover is Butler Creek, the rear flip up sight on the rifle is a Troy. Wasn't sure which you ment. |
