I saw this asked a few pages back, but it wasn't answered clearly. (At least not that I could tell.) Are these Micro Dot Gen 2's blem. models parallax free? If I understand this concept correctly, I can have the rifle and my head/eyes anywhere while viewing the reticle/dot. Even if the dot isn't centered in the scope, as long as the dot is on target, it'll be a hit, correct? So, does this apply as well to these micro dot's? There is some shift at the far top edge but everywhere else parallax free. . |
|
Ok, thank you, Sir. So as long as I keep the dot below the top edge I'll be fine then I suppose. It would seem that this shift would be more apparent at longer ranges correct? Would things still be on target within 50 meters or so?
Btw, I'm very happy with the sight and the Ultimak rail. That really is the best way to mount an optic on an AK! Any ideas on when more Eotech XPS 2-0 are gonna come in? |
|
Anybody have a Gen 2 sight in a LaRue LT-661 mount (the low LaRue mount)? If so, can you tell me the height from the top of the rail to some point on the PA sight? I'm ultimately after the height to the center of the optic tube, but a measurement to the top of the tube would work fine too.

Re: QD Mount from Primary Arms:
How close do these return to zero after repeated unmounting/mounting? |

Just ordered a Gen 2 Micro from my HK91 clone, can't wait to try it out with a few mags of .308 goodness.
Does anyone have a pic through the scope of the micro with a magnifier? |
|
I'm not sure if this is documented anywhere, because I couldn't find it, but with the Gen 2 micro in a LaRue LT-661 mount (the shortest of the three), I measure the center of the tube at 0.94" from the top of the rail (plus or minus a few hundredths).
On my SIG556 Classic, this is almost enough to give me absolute cowitness. I can live with it. I may investigate the LT-660HK mount, but I suspect that it may be slightly too high. edit: Using the numbers provided by LaRue, the LT-660HK is 0.47" taller than the LT-661, so that's a definite no-go on the Sig. |

I made my first order last week with PA, and my Microdot G2 was on my front porch 3 days later (which is FAST for Hawaii). This thing is great, especially for the price, and I am an equipment snob. 3 days later my LaRue HK mount came. What a great combination on an AR! Just perfect! For about $150 together, its a package that just can't be beat. I am not one to abuse equipment, but I am looking forward to putting this combination through its paces...

I ordered this scope to put on my GSG-5 when it comes back from ATI. I ended up installing in on my .22 Buckmark instead. It previously wore a cheapo four position red dot I picked up at a gun show.
It zeroed well, and with a total of 280 rounds shot this afternoon, it has so far held it' s zero. Plus it really looks great on the gun. The dot is plenty bright, I was at an indoor range and only had it up to the 4 position . My last scope was not bright enough. I was really impressed with the fit & finish and quality of this scope. I haven't held an Aimpoint Micro but I can't imagine it being any better. For my purposes..it's great. If I was in the sandbox and my life depended on it..well that might be another story. Onlly one problem..Now I have to order another one for the GSG!!!!! I'll take a picture of it on the gun soon........ Thanks Marsh!!! |

I mounted the micro on my M92 Krink and pit it through it's paces today in a shoot. The weather was cold (36 degrees) and rainy so I thought it was a perfect test. Approx 130 rounds later I can say that this thing is more than stout enough for me.

I received a PA Micro Gen 2 with high mount yesterday (sat.), prior to ordering on wed. Fast shipping!
Mounted it on my Stag Model 2 M4, after using med. strength loctite on the mounting screws (like directions say to) No problems with the mounting adjustment lever. Sighting through my MBUS, the elevation knob didn't need to be touched, and the windage knob was adjusted only 3 klicks to the left to give a perfect lower 1/3 co-witness. Went to the range and shot from 25 yds.- 50 and 100 yds. off the bench. No further adjustments were needed, to elevation or windage. I settled down for a 5 shot group at 100 yds. It did around 3 inches. It was a cloudy day, and it was set at 3 on the intensity dial. Hope it does well on the brightest setting on sunny days. I'm pleased with it... thanks Marsh. |

Just bought one for my Saiga .223. Already shipped (of course), and hopefully it will arrive in time for my birthday in two days.

Thinking about gettting a Gen 3 for my AR. Currently I have a Millett DMS mounted on a Larue SPR-E. What I want to do is to have the Gen3 in an offset position. If I got a Gen 3 and the Daniel Defense 1 oclock offset rail, would it work for this purpose? Would I need anything else mount wise?

I have a gen2 on a mossberg 500, and the gen3 on a Ruger Mk3 22/45
Both work great, shipping was fast, the value is many times more than most things I have purchased. I was so impressed I bought the recently restocked flip to side 30mm scope/magnifier mount. I am equally impressed with it. I have it on my MP-15 with a mako 5X and Eotech 512. It is perfect. Just what I had hoped it would be. The flipmount replaced an Aimpoint QD which I sold, paying for the Gen3 and the flip to side mount. Thanks, PA |

The LED housing does effectively block standard cowitness (you can barely make out the top of the front sight post and the top of the notch), however a decent cowitness was achieved by adjusting the rear sight higher to 400 meters, and then raising the front sight accordingly to retain the 50 y zero. The range adjustments are no longer valid when you do this of course, but it doesn't bother me that much. |

I have looking at adding a red dot to a Glock and came across a mount for an Aimpoint micro. I assume the PA micro will fit? but how do you feel the PA would do mounted on a slide Marshall?

That would sure be a good workout. That is very different from recoil even on a shotgun so I am not sure but let's find out. If it won't hold up I will refund and give you a deal on a T-1 or H-1. Shoot me a email and let's discuss. |

I was the happy recipient of a Gen 2 Micro Dot today, which was my Valentiine's gift from my wife. As usual Primary Arms got my order or a Friday and if it weren't for the President's Day Holiday, I would've gotten it yesterday in Ohio (I got it today, even with the bad weather). The Gen 2 was mounted on my Mossberg 930 SPX, is a great co-witness for the iron sites (bottom 1/3 of the glass is where the iron sites set) and I can't wait to get it zero'd at the range. However, before I got the Gen 2 on my shotgun, I set it atop my AK to see how this site would work on this rifle. I know that I'll have to get an Ultimak rail and another Gen 2 since this co-witness was even better than my shotgun. With the way that I'm purchasing every other optic that Marshall brings out, I'm going to need a 12 Step Program to keep me from making another order!
In all honesty, great job, Marshall! |
|
Incredibly fast shipping and the optic is better built than I would have guessed.
Question though, am I being stupid or do these have a really bad blue tinge coating? Is that some sort of optic cover I can peel off? Is it the non-glare coating on the front element? Other peoples' pictures seem to be completely fairly translucent and using both eyes open is kind of bizarre with a blue haze around the target. My T-1 has a slight discoloration but nothing that distorts the image as severely as this. |
|
From another VERY satisfied customer...placed my order on a Sunday, rec'd the sight and installed it on Wednesday. Sighted it in today. Held zero no problem. Less than 10 rounds to sight it. Easily worth 2x the price I paid! Thanks for offering a great product. Definitely looking to try out the other options available at Primary Arms. My AK is jealous now!

Has anyone tried these on a 12 gauge?
I'll be ordering several for some ARs, but I'm thinking about adding another for the shotty. |

One less Gen 2 in stock since I just ordered one with a riser and magnifier!

I just bought two. I planned to buy these months ago when they first arrived but wanted to wait until I heard reports of their quality. Then I read there was something wrong with them and put it on the back burner. Unfortunately I never bothered to read any follow ups because the problem doesn't even affect me. I'm not going to remove them from their mounts.
I'm going to mount one on my SAR-2 with ultimak combo and shims. And add a vltor offset light mount to the ultimak. Apparently that is the most low profile mount and doesn't interfere with co-witness, which hopefully will be obtainable with the new setup. Does anyone know if the vltor QD lever mount will also not interfere with co-witness or is it just the thumb screw model that is optimal? The other red dot is going on my mossberg 500 with this mount: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BXS2K4/ref=oss_product for a very low cost and hopefully effective setup. I'll post pics if anyone is interested. Can't wait to get them. |

I feel kind of silly... I just spent $100 on a Larue mount to cowitness my $60 MicroDot on my $400 M&P 15-22.
Marshall: You guys really need to come out with a cheap absolute cowitness mount for the MicroDot! |

I have a Larue LT660HK mount on the way for my Spike's Tactical ST-22 .22LR AR and I will order a Gen2 Micro when it's available. I have about $2020 invested in it so far (not including mags). |
