Hey guys,
I went and checked out the ar friday and it turns out to be a near mint Colt SP1 20" 1-12 barrel sr# in the 180000 range. I guess that would put it in the 81-82 year. Upper/lower have a nice brown/grey smooth finish which are offset with perfect black furnature. It has a tight lockup and no rattles.
CM P Crome bore (chamber magnufluxed plated) stamped on barrel.
Check out some of the stuff I got with it.
5) colt/ adventure line 20rd mags
5) adventure line 30rd mags
Mint 4x Colt scope with A1 mount
Galati Int'l padded softcase with 5 mag pouches. Heavy duty!!
US made issue bayonet/scabbord. A real bayonet
unlike that POS hotdog poker on my SKS!!!
Owners and disasembly manuals, couple hundred rounds of brass ect...
Went off to the range and set it up on sand bags for a little 100 yd BR shooting with 55gr FMJ's. That flat bottem on the triangle handgard works awesome for BR shooting. First group printed a 10 shot group into 2" with heavy winds. Satisifed that it would be a shooter with my handloads, now the fun would begin. I purchased 10 new 30rd Thermolds prior to purchasing an AR (hows that for having your mind made up!!!) based on other members recomendations. Inserted one and ran the bolt over it a few times to shave the flash off of the feed lips. Loaded up 30 and "Let her rip off the hip". Gobbled'em up and spit them out in about 5 seconds. Man that was fun!!I dont know why it took me so long to buy on of these things!!Beats the hell out of a 6PPC BR rifle.
These SP1's might not be as popular as some of the other preban AR's but the fit/finish machining on mine is second to none and they also cost alot less. Also there is never a question if it's preban or not. All SP1's are!!
Good shooting to ya,

Man I cant keep my hands off this thing!
