About to make my first order with Larue, and going to get an 18" tOBR 7.62 , and a mount for some glass.
Any idea what the wait time is right now? Hearing less than 30 days? Also-what comes with the rifle, ie; is there anything i need to get? Does it come with any sort of carrying case, or that tool box thing that I am seeing all over youtube? Sorry for the newbie questions...going to finally get me a rifle I am going to keep..so want to do it right the first go around! |

It will come in a plane Jane hard case. You can get the toolbox and roll up bag from LT. Recommend at least the roll up bag, it's more handy than I thought they would be.
You'll get some SWAG, never know what's going to show up. Imagine you'll have your rifle before Easter. You need to buy optics, now so your not kicking yourself when the rifle shows up. Scope mount, BUIS if you want, bipod if you want, light if you want, extra magazines of whatever flavor, and get a form 4 going for your can. I personally wouldn't order an 18", no real advantage over a 16". I'd have a 14.5" but I've got lots of other stuff with 16" and don't want to deal with another set of tables. ETA: Also gonna need lots and lots of ammo. |

My main use for this rifle is going to be semi precision, hunting, and just overall shooting. So 16" is what I should go for? No need to go 18"? |

Mark has been slipping on keeping this current. But your call, all you're loosing is a little velocity not accuracy.
|
|
i think 30 days might be a little optimistic but only larue would know for sure.i have a 16" tobr and have had a 18" on order,i was hoping mark would have the 338 federal barrels done by the time he ships mine so i could get of the first.there are some hogs down south that i would love to beta test it on.personally i think the 18" is the best of both worlds max velocity and accuracy to boot.now if you are planning on only shooting to 200 yards the 14 or 16" will do fine but at 800-1k every bit of velocity helps.
as others have said they no longer come with the toolbox and the roll up bag, depending on what you are looking for in a trigger they will soon all have the mbt(larue)trigger but i think right now they are still shipping with the black gold trigger. pete |

On Friday we discussed how our local Wendy's and Chick-Fil-A race to have the bag hanging out the the 2nd window before you get done paying at the 1st window.
That is our goal, but we ain't there yet. ETA - We're gonna be down to a 10 days ARO average by end of this month or sooner or I'm selling all my cows. |

Are the new orders getting the new trigger, or the Black Gold trigger?
Not like I have tried either, and since its coming on a Larue, im sure its going to be nice.... :) |

You give up a bit of velocity about 75 FPS, but since you already have the can... the 16" will be easier to handle and a touch shorter. 308 from 24 to 16.5" |

Going to order today.
Need an Atlas, the tOBR, and a scope mount in 34MM...... Any recommendations on the scope mount since the tOBR already has 20MOA built into it? |

Correct--the Obr has 20 moa, the tobr is 0moa. I would recommend the Lt-111 or the lt-120. Be aware the lt 120 will not allow a troy rear sight to fit under most scopes. |

I still haven't been contacted to get my Match Grade barrel. Rifle was in my hands in Dec 2013. Hopefully that gets done...soon.

No. I have a Leupold Mk 4 holding me over until I can afford a Schmidt & Bender. It's gonna be a while, but after seeing the clarity on the Schmidt, the Leupold will likely only be with me for another year or so. |

Ugh.... I hate you And I need to make more money View Quote Haha, it definitely hurt the credit card, but being single helps. Now just waiting on a 6.5 OBR, or I guess a tOBR would work too (though I'd probably go for a different mount--opted for the OBR mount) unless I pull the trigger on a bolt gun. |

It pained me to do it, but I let go of the OBR to fund the tOBR. Since Mark's been teasing us with spare barrel options for the tOBR, it just made more sense. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to scrape for Schmidt's 3-20x50mm in RAL 8000, CCW, MTC, H59, etc etc... been drooling over that one for over a year now and it doesn't look like it's changing anytime soon. The little lady makes me happy though. |

I won't be able to help myself from playing with the scope on the 556 tOBR (waiting for sparrels there also 300 and 6.5) until I find it a good permanent home. |

The LT745 is what I use for my SCAR 17. It's also available in 10 or 20 MOA. I switch it between my SCAR and tOBR, so it's better for me that the levers are on the right side.
Keep in mind, if you're going for the 16" you probably won't be shooting it beyond 800 yards, so you might not even need the extra cant which makes the LT104 also a good option. |

So we're both still S&Bless, until tomorrow that is, since I called for them to hold it at the warehouse. |

So I picked up my 18" tobr today and my September ordered gun has a mbt trigger,I am not sure if I'm happy or not......maybe some range time will fix things.the mbt seems to be a very nice trigger and like the reviews stated it has a glass like break and resets nice.the only issue I have is that I have a 16" tobr with the black gold trigger and I really like it,now the second has the mbt.must be my odd but I was hoping to keep things the same.
Guess one or the other will likely have to go maybe a shootout is in order. So I'm guessing that larue is totally up to speed with mbt production.all guns seem to be shipping with the mbt triggers. Pete |
