So Mr. LaRue has teased us with In one week...
I have a Dillo, God Bless Our Troops Bumper Sticker, AR15.Com Poker Chip and a Paracord Lanyard for the person who guesses what the new invention is... Rules: One post per person. No editing of you guess after the Team E-mail is sent. If more than one person guesses the same thing it will revert to a coin flip or number draw. Calvin and Hobbs rules in effect.... What we know so far: Obviously the first of anything has to have a Black Coating Quoted:
I can say this, they are getting a black coating as I type. Seems that it will be classic LaRue Craftsmanship and affordable... Quoted:
Quoted:
i know what it is a specially designed, CNC machined, Billet aluminum, teflon coated, QD, credit card killer You sir are spot on, with the exception of the "credit card killer". Appears to be a new mount... Quoted:
Quoted:
<snip> So, it IS something that is "QD"........ And Alohakid ain't given any till he gets the word and won't be getting any after the Brown Truck of goodness drops off the Dillo wrapped box.... Quoted:
I vow no sex until the news comes out........... |

WTF is QD? (sips another sip of 24 year old scotch)
Ok, now that that's resolved. A QD mount for Bolt action rifles as in Rem & Savage. Same mount would serve both styles plus others and high enough to have a 50+mm lens. Perhaps with a built in level. Why Mark has not done this yet is beyond me. |

Edit: Damnit. Thats what I get for opening this thread in a tab and not getting to it for a little bit.
Some type of flash hider. |
I'll have to guess "BOLT CARRIER group"! Easy to clean 'n Tex. Spec.
LaRue Black Coated, Quick Detachable................................ Sling System!
I'd say a rail mounted bayonnet, but that's not Marks style...
How about a cup holder? That'd be mighty handy! |
A version of the AK Iron Dot mount with a rail allowing QD mounts to be used.
My guess is a new Larue adjustable buttstock! Now that I would buy!
QD scope mount for a bolt gun ( hopefully for Remington long action to fit my 700P)
I am in for the long awaited Larue quick detachable suppressor.
I change my answer to: QD rings for a bolt action rifle.
I got nothing. Thanks for letting me play. |

Suppressor? Seems that you are going to have to do a lot of coin flips if this is correct, but this is my guess as well. It would be very fitting for their year of retribution. I'd say this is ruled out based on the "not a credit card killer" comment. |

That's what I thought at first, but "not a credit card killer" can be subjective. |

I am guessing a new rail that has a "notch" cut out for the standard front iron sight

LaRue QD picatinny rail. That way anything you can attach to a rail can instantly become QD.
I also hope for a suppressor to work on the new OSR.
But my offical guess is a " GPS QD mount" |
I'm going to guess that it's a drop in free float rail system similar to the DD Omega series, only better and Texas Spec!
Quoted:
Fixed Front BUIS ill be mad as fuck if thats it because i ordered troys and some other shit from larue last week and did it specifically because he doesnt make this. |
I'm going to stick with my original wild-assed guess that Mark is reviving the "Texas" shaped tactical beverage opener...
I like the sound of:
This... Quoted:
Fixed Front BUIS This... Quoted:
Multi-position/adjustable flashlight mount This... Quoted:
offset red dot mount I really like this... Quoted:
QD scope mount for a bolt gun ( hopefully for Remington long action to fit my 700P) I like the Suppressor suggestion, but I don't think it fits the non-credit card killer slot. However, if it were part of the "Year of Retribution" and LaRue offered them for some ridiculously low price it still would not fit due to the amount of money I would have to spend to build a new rifle worthy of said Suppressor. |
Perhaps a Tactical (choice of color/pattern), QD, MOLLE compatible, 1913 Pictinny rail, insulated, Kevlar lined, milspec,
Beverage Holder! With a 'Dillo in a separate side pouch. It could: mount to your weapon, chest rig or belt, would easily be detached for consumption, keep your favorite beverage cold or hot, has potential as a quick dump pouch (when empty) and blend in perfectly with you surroundings! Drink tube and bite valve optional! prib |
He called it an "invention".....that sounds like something that aint been done before. IPOD mount is KAC, suppressor is hi-dollar...
I want to guess a Remington 700 chassis, but that IS a credit card killer...and not QD. Crap. 1911 parts aren't QD either. I starting to lose sleep over this one! |
