Happened by this thread tonight, thought I'd chime in that the Basejump is a really good helmet, and a great value as compared to putting together a PT with all the features it would take to make an apples-to-apples comparison.
You can get these easily dialed in so there's almost no play at all, even with relatively heavy items mounted to them. Between the easily interchangable pads to take up excess wiggle-room between the shell and your head (they include two sets for proper sizing) and the OCC-Dial, I can tug on the light or whatever I've got ARC'd to the sides, and it barely moves. I didn't have any small IR lights handy to try it out with, so immediately pic-rail-adaptered a Surefire M620V to the ARC, and while that's really a weapon light that would normally be considerd large enough to seem lopsided, I really didn't feel the helmet tugging down on that side.
One thing I was concerned about was if it would work with only highspeed low profile earmuffs, but I grabbed the biggest pair of Peltor low-speed/high-drag muffs, and the helmet didn't rub on them or push them down at all. Fit very nicely with all brands and sizes of muffs I tried it with.
As to the earlier warranty question, the FAST helmet warranty card that came with it says "the shell is warranted for (5) years from date of purchase against material defects and/or faulty worksmanship." I don't know if that's applicable to the Basejump or if it's only for the other FAST models, as to be clear - this warranty card was in with the bag of extra pads, not in with the helmet itself - I'd wait to see the official OPS Core party line on this as well as whatever packaging they end up actually shipping these helmets with.
The OPS Core Basejump really does look like it's going to be a great brain bucket though –– I'm sure a lot of these will be popping up as it offers some great options at a very fair price.
