I'm sure everyone would love to know how many pmags you guys are able to crank out daily? Is it a secret or can you give us a hint? 5,000+ , 10,000+ etc
Thanks! |

It's a secret, they will never say. I've noticed that trend when people ask them |

I guess 1200. My guess is you're low by an order of magnitude. |

I know it's something they will never disclose, but I would love to know.

If one could find out a little more about the actual production process you could put a best guess to it. Considering they are pretty much polymer I am saying they are done in a fashion of a mold with hot injection and cooled then assembled. With their low MSRP's I would say it is mostly automated at this point as well. So its a matter of chemistry on how long they take to cool assemble and package with QC as well before they ship.

We don't discuss those numbers, but I can give you a hint:

Just thinking it would save time and expense of the individual retail bag. I'm thinking this would delay production as they'd have to design and implement a new packaging step to their automation, probably adding a whole new machine that could bundle in bulk. I say we let the experts do their thang and stand back and cheer them on.

Sorry, we just can't get into any specifics (or even generalities like this) about production levels. We are making a whole lot of every model, every day, and shipping them out as quickly as it is possible to do so. |

I fully understand Magpul not wanting to give away any info about their market share.
But, does anyone know what the total market is? I've been wondering what the average non-panic sales figures are for 20 or 30 round mags sold domestically since the AWB expired in 2004? And, what did it grow to after 0bama was elected in 2008? I'd bet the numbers are staggering. |

This is the answer I would expect.
You can't expect anyone in any kind of competitive business to start talking specific numbers. |

Can it be disclosed whether the mag bodies are individually injected, or if they come off a larger sprue, like models. 20 or 40 to a tree, etc?

Thanks for setting straight the inaccurate information I was given.

Not sure if it's under the manufacturing processblackout, but when you guys bring in the raw plastic, is it all one color and you add your own color, or do you buy it in the various colors already?
I know I know, "stop asking questions so I can get back to teh shop floor" |

|
Yup its on their website.
They list featured dist and featured on-line retailers. Brownells and DSG look like golden children with DSG maybe ahead of the game being listed both as a Dist and on-line retailer. As far as magpul not talking about production numbers.............. I know for sure Magpul did quote production rates many years ago when they ramped up after the ban. They discussed it on AR15.com. I just wish I could find the very old thread. All I remember was the number was very, very high and taking into account that its was years ago, I would think production would be far greater now. |

Didn't ask. Figured m3, 20 & 308. Eta it's all hearsay anyway but it makes sense to run as many of the fastest models to produce and narrow the product line down for efficiency |
