I just got a Rem 700 Magpul edition. Looking for a good brake for it. Which one do you guys prefer? Best bang for the money? Also not sure what the thread size is. Is it the standard 5/8 x24? Sorry I'm new to this platform.

Area 419 Hellfire.  The best performance in a 3 port brake and the best mounting system.

You may look at Strike Industry, King Break.  Under $50.00 works well.

That is not the route I would go for a precision rifle.

So far I'm leaning toward the hell fire. Looks pretty sweet and easy install. They are back order though. Any other suggestions?

If you don't need a suppressor mount brake, definitely check out the APA Little Bastard.

The SilencerCo ASR brake works well, is accurate, and is less than $70 if you look around.

APA Little Bastard Gen 2 is excellent. Uses a jam nut to install so timing is simple. $130 from APA. Buy once.

It really is probably the best brake out there. And it's no coincidence that it's the most popular muzzle brake on PRS rifles.

On a side note, as far as suppressor mount brakes, the AAC 51t muzzle brake is a recoil eating SOB. A little harder to get timed, but it doesn't kick up much dust if you get it timed right.

Lots of guys have been switching to the Hellfire.  Seeing more and more of them at matches.

I have the APA Little bastard 2 on my .308, it works great but the mounting system on the Hellfire is nicer.

I just picked one up. Mainly because I can switch between a brake and a can when I do eventually get one.

I put a gamma vg6 on mine. That's what I had so I use it. Not bad.
