Nice shooting!...  but... Vertically, that group measures ~0.84" (assuming 1" orange dots")!  Assuming your .308 makes ~0.29" holes, vertically it looks like about 3 bullet hole diameters (~0.87"?) top to bottom...  Please remeasure and post photo with calipers measuring vertically.

Obviously this was a hard accomplishment for you.  I’m proud of you for finally being able to do it.  You’re amazing brother.  Good on you.  I personally would have no reason to think other forum members can’t do it, because I know it can be done.  Also, you told me I can use any gun and caliber I want?  Bruh, that was crazy talk.

As for me, I have no need for internet credentials.  I have no need for you to think I can shoot.  I care not for some jackass on the internet.  Why you ask?  Because I’d wager that the majority of groups posted on the internet are claimed to be shot at distances far greater than actually shot.  If you get off on that stuff, cool, but as a “man,” I don’t bother with such garbage.

I tried ignoring you for general sophomoric behavior and realized you’re a mod?!?!?  Wow, um, ok, but really man, you’re acting pretty childish, let’s knock it off ok?  How about if I tell you you’re a much better shooter than me.  That good for you?  You got it friend, I’m a fraction of your talent.

Nice rifle and good shooting.

If you’re measuring from the center, you can’t do that and also subtract the bullet diameter for an accurate measurement. Measure outside to outside, then subtract the diameter for the best accuracy in your measurement.

Actually, that would be about the .813.  Measuring from the centers, don't add or subtract anything.

Measuring edge to edge, easier to get an accurate measurement, subtract the dia. of 1 bullet.

Nice shooting.

Thank you.   I rushed the center group.   Was trying to get it in before the sun started to shine into my scope and eyes.  Oh well, im still pleased with the results.   I waited 6 months for the barrel and was just about to give up on it and buy a Ballistic Advantage barrel when i got the shipping notice.   So very glad i waited.

Nice shooting.  What happened on group 4?  Barrel heating or nerves?  We've all been there .

I was having mag issues. I use a 5 or 10 rounder when shooting off a bipod to avoid ground clearance issues. I grabbed the first one that I saw;turns out it was a crappy ProMag that someone had probably given to me years ago. I had numerous mis-feeds and bullet setbacks that I caught. I evidently missed a couple on group four. That mag now resides at the bottom of the pond.

3rd rifle on this list... Really starting to like 6.5G.  I finally have access to a range beyond 100yds and I am learning quite a bit playing out to 600yds.  Load development has proven a challenge though, I haven't found a very forgiving charge range with any bullet.  It seems like I can find a node but a couple tenths above or below I will go from 1" to 2"+ groups.

Good shooting. As far as your loads, I have found the same with respect to nodes. My grendel is a tack driver when you hit the sweet spot but as you say, a couple tenths either way makes for a pretty meh grouping.

@FighterFixer1

I try to be out there every Sat at opening.  This weekend I will be there playing with a suppressed FAL, pretty sure I’ll be the only one of those on the line… Plan is to be out there Sunday as well, but I’ll be in the rimfire bay with my boys.

Excellent!  I've got a Toys for Tots ride to attend down in Sumter today, and will be spending the rest of the weekend doing family Christmas stuff.  It seems that we have similar schedules--I'm usually there before 0900 on Saturdays too.  I'm the guy usually shooting the FDE AICS lefty bolt gun--also a 'one of a kind' on the line.

My best group of the day. I had 2 under MOA the rest were slightly over. I cant seem to get a consistent 5 shot group without pulling at least one. The worst part is I know I fucked up the second I pull the trigger. Oh well I just need more practice. This group has been the best I've shot with this rifle so I am improving

Even a small rear bag helps a lot. I have the ARF MOA all day approved Crosstac squeeze bag, would definitely recommend.

A good squeeze bag is almost mandatory. Even my clapped out Harris bipod worked but without the bag in rear there was no chance.

Good luck.

Why no 25 yard magnified optics division for .22lr?

.22lr has a crap ballistic coefficient and gets tossed around in the breeze easily.  Centerfire at 100 yards should theoretically be easier to shoot than 50 yards with a .22lr.

Feel free to post up your results.

Results of 25 yard scoped rimfire, or 100 yard centerfire?  Because I never claimed to have a centerfire rifle that will shoot sub moa all day.

I do have a rimfire that I think will do it at 25 yards with a scope, but it doesn't even have iron sights on it, and my eyes wouldn't cooperate anyway.

Might give this a try with my Sako 85 Varmint soon.  Just have to hope I don't fuck my groups up when opening them up to 5 shot groups

Shot these groups using a Caldwell Rock front rest, and a small sandbag against my shoulder and under the butt of the rifle.

Took it out for the first time and this was the only group I shot after sighting it in with Hornady 140gr ELD-X...

Then I shot these groups with Barnes 140gr OTM...  These are the three best groups.  The barrel started heating up after these groups and a couple of the other groups were about .9 or so, then I had one that was either due to the barrel heating up or me just pulling a shot that was 1.4".

I'm a long time lurker but first time posting in MOA ALL DAY LONG. I've always thought this thread was a great idea, to separate the BS-ers from the shooters.

Rifle is the Howa KRG Bravo in .308. This is the Howa 1500 short-action supplied with the KRG Bravo stock (this option no longer appears on the Legacy Sports web site). Mine has the factory 24" barrel, which is 1-in-10 twist.

Bipod is the Magpul, and this is my first time shooting on it.

I'm shooting factory Federal GM308M, which is .308 Gold Medal Match, 168 grain (yes, I know people already know what this ammo is, sorry).

My rear bag is homemade and measures 8" x 5" x 2" (meets the less-than 96 CI rule). I have to squeeze the bag to get and hold proper elevation, as per the rules. The bag contains Airsoft BBs, so I'm well supplied should I run out of .308 :-)

Images below, if I've done the tags correctly. This is at DPRC, in North Carolina. Decent groups, but nothing spectacular.

Bolt division with magnified optics, 100 yards, Herters1893: Howa KRG Bravo .308, 24" factory barrel, Leupold VARI-X III 6.5-20x40mm (circa 1991), ADM scope mount, Federal Gold Medal Match (GM308M, 168 grain). Groups: 1.021"/1.032"/0.839"/0.940"/0.880" = avg. 0.942" = .900 MOA
