I’m looking at both of these in .308. I have heard nothing but great things about both firearms.

View Quote There are several options, depending on how much you want to spend. Best bang for the buck is probably the LT Ultimate Upper kit, about $1500 for the complete rifle.

A Light Weight bolt action in .204 ruger, .223 Rem, .224 Valkyrie, .22-250 or .243 Win. Maybe a 6mm Creedmoor. Now for a semi auto Aero Precision makes some decently accurate rifles.

He may have a point depending on your definition of predator hunting. Taking shots at a pack of coyote at 300 yards. A semi auto in 556 would work great. 6.5 grendl will work more better and 308 & cm may be over kill but will really stretch your legs.

Bolt guns on 2 or 3 yotes....you may not get the extra shots off.

That's why my go too is a Bushmaster 24" varminter in .223 Wylde shooting 69gr Nosler CC's. But I also have and old M700 in .243 win that's slain many coyotes in the last 30 years. As tight as we are to brush it's hard to get three in the open where the AR might shine. Now you just go a little ways west and it's not unusual to get six or more to come in together. I don't think the .224 Valkyrie would be a bad choice. The Grendel works pretty darn good but the 95gr bullet is rough on fur if you get a nice one. I think the 6mm Grendel would shine pretty good with a 60gr bullet.
